Hopefully, this transition will be smooth with minimal disruption to everybody’s experience. We plan to have the changes into effect by December 1st. You also can’t copyright the word “stream.” Streamlabs’ main color is actually way more blue than Streamcord’s is. It’s just a coincidence, and I happen to like the mint green color that I chose. Why does the new name and background color look like Streamlabs?

First and foremost, a new name and logo. However, there will be a few important changes: You will still receive notifications like normal. None of TwitchBot’s core features will change. But, to avoid a cease-and-desist or some kind of a court case, we’re taking preventative measures so that doesn’t happen. We haven’t received any formal notices from Twitch’s legal team yet. As you know, TwitchBot uses Twitch’s logo, color, and name pretty much everywhere. Now, in the footer of TwitchBot’s website, we state that “ TwitchBot is not operated by or affiliated with Twitch Interactive, Inc.” Well, as it turns out, that little notice isn’t enough. Twitch (reasonably) doesn’t want their logos / name to be used to create false claims that a third-party service is affiliated with themselves. Any use of these trademarks must be in accordance with any guidelines that Twitch may provide you from time to time. TWITCH, the Twitch logos, CURSE, the Curse logos, and any other product or service name, logo, or slogan used by Twitch, and the look and feel of the Twitch Services…are trademarks or trade dress of Twitch, and may not be used in whole or in part in connection with any product or service that is not Twitch’s, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among customers…without our prior written permission. To answer your first question, let me pull an excerpt from Twitch’s terms of service.

Why does the new name and background color look like Streamlabs?.What does this mean for the bot itself?.Now, you’re probably wondering a few things already: Now it’s time for a bit of a change: we’re renaming TwitchBot to Streamcord.

For over two years, I’ve been focused on making TwitchBot into what it is today.
